End Online: Chapter 38

Editors: Templar, Jack Vanatis, genericIntent
Author’s notes(Readme): Update on all that is happening. First of all CotE Decision. After constantly rereading all of your input in the comments, I have decided to remove energy weapons from the novel. What will be used to achieve a variety of effects however, is a combination of countless different bullet types and alchemy engravings that can be placed on the weapons (and combinations of the two) Thank you all for the comments, it really helped me reach a final decision.
Next, two pieces of news. Volume 1 of EO has finished it’s professional editing finally after going back between me and the editor a bit. That will be updated to Amazon in about 24hours – and available in 48. I have also secured an artist (the very best, mind you) to create the cover for Chronicle of the Eternal: Volume 1. I had wanted to add another name for the book 1 specific (like Chronicle of the Eternal: Sixty Academia (Volume 1) ) but I couldn’t think of anything that really stands out.
Lastly, I’m going to focus 100% on CotE for April, hoping to finish the book by the end of the month. As a result of this, no EO will be written, so I will release 2 or 3 chapters of CotE. I will focus 100% on EO to finish Volume 6 after that, so I hope I can release 2 books in 2 months.
P.S. If you find that nothing has been updated here and I have seemingly vanished, you can guess with a 99% accuracy that I have just gotten addicted to reading or re reading a book/webnovel. I’m far too easily distracted, and I can’t write properly unless I flush it out of my system. Tonight is my last night of “renegading”, I will speak to you all soon ^.^

Chapter 38 – University

-Lost(Hollis)-

A knocking sound wakes me up. There is no sunlight filtering through the bedroom window, but that is because I spent last night sleeping in my locker with Fen again. The first time was extremely nerve-wracking, but the second time was much more peaceful.

Fen is lying on top of me this morning, her head resting on my chest with her hands over my shoulders, and both of her legs wrapped around one of mine with a vice-like grip. Her face is incredibly peaceful as she sleeps, gently inhaling and exhaling in synch with me. While I can’t see them, I can feel her breasts pressing against my stomach. It is the kind of feeling that makes one happy to be alive.

I made another shocking discovery last night. Resting my hand on her hip, I realized that she was completely bare. I didn’t dare move for a while after that, my heart pounding in my chest as I start debating ‘should I, or should I not?’. This also led me to lie awake much longer than usual and oversleep in the morning.

CotE Decision

This is a relatively short post, but it is something I would like all of your input on. I have changed various things as I am going progressing in the story, mainly because it is Volume 1 so it serves as the foundation for the entire series.

I am currently getting further through Volume 1 and have come across a decision that needs to be decided upon. The energy/ion weapons. I haven’t really included them at all in the story since the beginning of the novel. Should they stay, and become a part of the novel during the latter half, or be removed? Leave a comment below sharing your thoughts on the matter.

This series is aimed at a Victorian Steampunk setting so I have the inclination that perhaps they don’t fit in. I can still have a form of rail gun within the novel by having a positive charged barrel when firing, arcs of electricity jumping off the barrel tip instead of a muzzle flash and all the fancy fireworks still.

P.s. I’ll remove this post after the decision is made to avoid clutter on the homepage.

Chronicle of the Eternal: Chapter 14

Editors: Templar, Jack Vanatis,
Author’s notes: The fourth and final chapter release. I mentioned this a while back, a couple of times actually, but this is the last free release of CotE until Volume 1 is published. I have changed the status of CotE chapters to be a total word count of the books completion (estimated). By the way, chapter 14 is estimated to be half way due to the word count, not amount of chapters.
Big news, we have reached 1 million views!! we actually reached it a couple of days ago. We also had a total of exactly 2000 comments, which makes even me feel slightly OCD over such a clean number. Only another 500 days until we reach 2 million at our current speed!
For now, my mind is weary, so I will have a bit of a sleep, a proper one, not one sitting at the couch with the keyboard across my knees. ^.^

Chapter 14 – Crafting

The school week finishes quickly, and the weekend begins. Regal wakes up early on Saturday so he can go to Atelier Gun & Bullet. Tanner had requested that he come in to earn some money, so he packs a loaf of semi-stale bread along with some fillings and a metal canister of water into his inventory for nourishment throughout the day. With this, he should be prepared for any situation.

He isn’t particularly fond of the bread, especially since the soul forming, but it is affordable and he currently only has twenty silver coins in his possession. The money he has earned over the past six months is about eighty silver coins, but the food expenses and the cost of dying once has already cost him three quarters of them.

Chronicle of the Eternal: Chapter 13

Author’s notes: The third chapter released. Oops, fell asleep while going through the edits! Anyway, going through chapter 14 now so hold your breath.

Chapter 13 – A New Friend

Regal wakes up on his bed the morning after the practical ‘Cartography’ lesson with a dreadful pain in his head. It is the first time he has ever felt something so uncomfortable. His mind feels woozy, and moving his head causes the room to spin. It should be known that he was given twice as much alcohol as the others in his group, as he appeared to be the most dehydrated.

Awkwardly sitting up, he finds a strange phenomenon affecting his stats.

Chronicle of the Eternal: Chapter 12

Editors: Templar, Jack Vanatis,
Author’s notes: The second chapter of four to be released. Finally found my email related to my property manager and noticed an email for a property inspection coming up very soon. Going to be a busy body tomorrow by the looks at it, cleaning any cobwebs in the corners and whatnot, I’m sure you know how it goes.
Also, those two editors have left me a bucket load of edits in the next chapter… even though it isn’t all that long… >.<

Chapter 12 – Practical ‘Cartography’

The next day, Regal arrives at school and enters his classroom with high spirits. It isn’t long before Mr. River also enters the classroom, quickly gathering the students and bringing them outside.

“Class 4 students, group together with everybody else and don’t cause me any problems,” Mr. River points toward a group of students already prepared to depart in front of the school.

Regal is mixed into the middle of the students of class 4 next to Veronica as the class hurriedly joins the rest of the school. The classes gather together as the students form into their usual friend circles. Very few are left standing by, as even Kilde and Astore quickly group together with Regal and Veronica.

Chronicle of the Eternal: Chapter 11

Editors: Templar, Jack Vanatis,
Author’s notes: The first chapter of CotE to be released. The next three will be released periodically within the next 1 – 3 hours. I’m still waiting on dinner to be delivered, but there is just the final edits to be done.
Changes made to past chapters:
~ Lv. 1 Medicinal Herb is now just become just Medicinal Herb. There is no level attached to it and is just Quality: Bad

Chapter 11 – Results

The following day, Regal arrives to school as usual. He sees Frederick sneering at him while walking through the front gates, but decides to ignore him. However, dark emotions swirl within his thoughts as Regal mentally labels Frederick as an enemy, and plans to have his revenge when he is stronger.

The next familiar face he runs into is Veronica, who intercepts him while in the hallway outside of class.

“Regal, I’m sorry,” she bows her head slightly.

“Sorry? For what?”

End Online: Chapter 37

Editors: Templar, Jack Vanatis,
Author’s notes: The chapter you have been waiting for? Well, it’s juicy, it’s fresh, and it’s here now.
The chapter plan for this chapter is available for everyone on my Patreon page. It is possibly the greatest one yet… maybe… but it definitely has the best illustration to date from Cr@ppy Artworks Inc.
As with the new chapter, please to take a moment of your time and show your support by following the link to vote for End Online at TopWebFiction. Remember, your vote will only last a week, but I will only ask you to do so with each full chapter release. More motivation for me to write faster!

Chapter 37 – Ruminu Forgotten Temple

– Lost –

After Matrix interrupts Fen and me, the camp is incredibly awkward. The entire site is silent, and not-so-subtle glances are constantly sent my way. Fen stands next to me as I practice my ‘Potion Production’, eyeing the concoctions nervously.

‘Don’t worry Fen, I won’t feed these to you. Those other people though, I might,’ I sinisterly muse to myself.

Once the morning cleanup is finished, I challenge everyone’s glances before saying, “Nothing happened! Now, let’s keep going into this forest.”

Chronicle of the Eternal: Chapter 10

Editors: Templar, Jack Vanatis,
Author’s notes: Shortest chapter so far. This was a decision I made to cut the end of it and place it in the next chapter. But at least this chapter is a solution to that greedy cliffhanger I left you with last time. This one has a little more closure.
I am currently writing Chapter 14 of CotE, which will be the final chapter released here for free. At least it will be until Volume 1 is published, in which the initial plan to release the remainder at a speed of one or two a week will be implemented.
There is no chapter plan for this chapter on my Patreon. I am currently only doing the chapter plan for End Online chapters there as I am trying to maintain an average of writing ~2000 words/day(apart from the days I vanish into the void called the internet). I originally hadn’t planned on mentioning this, but I post other things for those who support me by donating $1 or more a month. Everyone who supports me there… already knows this ^.^
Changes made to previous chapters:
~ Removed weapons having their own skill trees.
~ Alchemy and Martial skills usually have 3 – 4 skill paths, Crafting and Miscellaneous usually have 1 – 2 skill paths.
~ Made Piora in chapter 8 a person that the students admire from afar but don’t get close to her. (Consistency for a later chapter)
~ Skills in character info are now arranged alphabetical and not in order of aquired.

Chapter 10 – Fatherly Advice

Within the Temple of Life, Regal continues to bask in the golden radiance of the light within the chapel while calming his inner thoughts. Eventually, he wanders out the entrance with glazed eyes, as if he is lost in the world.

For the first time in his life, Regal looks up at the bluesteel ceiling of Theore first floor, three thousand feet above him, and thinks to himself, ‘The sky is so high. I wonder what the true sky outside this city is like, and how high it is. Is it twice as high as this? Ten times as high? A hundred? Such a thing is unfathomable.’

Lost in his curiosity and self-reflection, he wanders through the streets aimlessly. Eventually, he enters Market Street and his questioning of who he really is comes to an end.

News Update

I thought to update you all on several new things, and as it isn’t just a minor piece of news or two, I created its own post to grab your attention.

Part 1:

First of all, I am incredibly excited to announce the page views. I have been waiting patiently for the past month for this blog to reach a million views. I’m not some super conglomerate website, like wuxiaworld – that has recently, very recently, updated the fact that they have now reached 500 million page views, or other massively popular fan translation sites. But to someone like me, a million views is an incredibly big deal to me.

Considering I started End Online as a hobby during unemployment, without the slightest intention or idea I would make it my full time career, a million views back them was smoke and mirrors within a dream.

Chronicle of the Eternal: Chapter 9

Editors: Templar, Jack Vanatis,
Author’s notes: And that is all for this effort. More chapter(s) coming in about a week/or a little more.
Longest chapter of the release bananza. Also, updating on the status of CotE and releases. As I mentioned a while ago, I will stop releasing these chapters at some point and wait before posting the rest, at a speed of 1 chapter/week, mayber 2. I plan to start withholding chapters once Volume 1 becomes 50% complete. So far, it is guesstimated to be about 25 – 30%, so there will still be a few chapters, I’m just reminding you all ahead of time.
There is no chapter plan for this chapter on my Patreon at the moment. There will be a single release on what changed between planned and written for all chapters posted today later. Editing, sleeping, and writing to do first.

Chapter 9 – Rebirth

Following the fight with the first mutant rat, the four member squad is guided by Veronica away from the corpse in case the gunfire attracts multiple monsters, or other squads. Shortly after disappearing into the white mist, another squad emerges from the other side of the path.

This squad is comprised of six students from Class 4, the same class as Regal and the others. The squad captain is Frederick Dennen, a person Regal had defeated in a duel previously and whom also holds a strong dislike toward the Soulless. Frederick is the type of person that likes to bully others, often targeting Regal and the other three Soulless. They outsmart and escape Frederick too often though, coming across a teacher, or disappearing from sight, with seemingly uncanny timing.

The sound of Veronica’s squad’s footsteps can still be heard in the distance, but the echoing makes it difficult to discern how far and in what exact direction.
